We have seen them all in the horror movies, in fictional stories, in mythology, and legends telling us various stories about the vampires. I have put a page together to explain about the vampire but not in great depth. It's just some information to give an outline about the vampire in general.

There are many variations of vampires, but I will try to stick with the basic knowledge surrounding them from my researching. A vampire is mortal and not a fallen angel or a demon sent by Satan to corrupt or tempt. They are usually known to come from the grave and wonder at night sucking the warm blood of living men and woman. The vampire sucks the human blood to survive to sustain itself, and it's also said that animal blood will temper their hunger.

There are many possible ways collected throughout the centuries on how a vampire is made. I will tell you a few ways on the making of a vampire such as being born on at a certain time of the year such as a new moon or holly days, a mother being stared at by a vampire during her pregnancy, and there are many more. The most commonly known is being bitten by a vampire. When the victim is bitten he or she would carry the infection and feed of human blood to sustain itself.

There are two commonly types of vampires they are the Sanguinarian vampires, and the Psychic vampires. The Psychic vampires are known to drain life energy rather than the Sanguinarian vampires that drain out blood. The Psychic vampire is also known to drain out the emotion out of a human, and they can cause them to feel tiered, depressed, and also unbalanced.

Vampires are known to have many powers that vary from many kind. Each vampire usual holds their own types of powers. Some of them include their capability of remaining undead for indefinitely. They also have the ability to shape shift themself to animals such as bats, wolves, cats, raven, spider, fox, owl, scorpion, flies, and moths. They could also transform their body into mist or fog. They could mesmerism human, to whatever the vampire request. Their strength is about seven times more potent than an average man. They are able to move around in great speed, and they also have a greater sensory perception than any human. They have the ability to scale walls like spider to meet their prey. The vampire also has the ability to control the weather such as fog, and rain clouds. Those are just some of the type of powers a vampire is known to hold.

Here are some methods used throughout centuries to be known to destroy a vampire. They are as followed:

• Driving a stake through the vampire's heart is the most common method of destroying a vampire that could be found in almost every movie, or carried throughout the centuries of legends. The stake would have a sharp point at the end, and it is also said the wood should be made out of ash, hawthorn, maple, blackthorn, buckthorn, or aspen. Some legends say if the stake is hammered into the vampire into the earth the vampire would be paralyzed, and would be destroyed once the sun rose, or it would starve.
• The use of holly water or symbols on a vampire is supposedly known to harm a vampire or dispelling the vampire. It also says it depends on the faith behind the holly symbols, not the symbol.
• Burning a vampire is another known way carried out through legends and movies. In this method they would burn the vampire into ashes, and scatter the ashes away from each other so the vampire wouldn't find itself to rise again.
• Piercing a vampire with a holly sword is also said to destroy a vampire.

There are some methods that legends have carried out through time on protecting a person to ward of vampires. Some that are included are the ringing of bells will drive out the undead. The use of garlic is supposed to be effective as a repellent to ward off vampires. Candles are also used to ward of vampires but will not kill them. The light from the candle represents the sun's rays and is said to be a representation of God. Those are just some ways again there are many more ways to ward off a vampire.

Those are just the most commonly pieces of information collected about the vampires. There are a lot more to be discovered and learned about them like learning about the origin of the vampire.
