Ghosts are spirits of people or animals. They are what is left after the body dies. Most of us go to another place but ghosts are the ones that either do not realize they are dead or they have unfinished buisiness and cannot move on to where they should go.

They appear either as a form, orb (like a bubble), or ectoplasmic residue (looks like smoke). Many people see them through the corner of their eyes (they move very fast). Some can see them as if another person is just standing there looking at them. The most commonly seen are the orbs. I myself have taken many photos in my home or elsewhere and have had them show up on camera. Digital cameras are the best to use when ghost hunting. Some say that they are unreliable but I believe they are.

There are some ghosts that blatently choose not to leave this plain because they are just that evil and that is where you hear of poltergeists, ghosts that scratch or harm people, or make noises to purposefully scare people. These ghosts simply have no respect for the living because they are bitter and long to be alive again to do thier evils.

These are the kind of spirits that you definately need to have a priest of some sort come in and do a cleansing in your home. Saying prayers yourself is also a good thing. Using white candles, salt and sage combined with prayers are the best you can use to rid yourself or your home of spirits. On occasion sometimes this still does not work and they just refuse to leave no matter what you do or say. These are the cases where people just desert their homes such as the Amytiville house.

Now on occasion there are souls(not to be confused with ghosts) that visit loved ones. Sometimes people think they are being haunted by loved ones passed on but this is not the case. They are able to travel to our plain on a whim whenever they feel they need to check up on us. Too many people confuse the two. Loved ones can also manipulate and move things.

Going back to ghosts; Ghosts are able to manipulate electricity and water. This is why so many people see or hear the phenomenom of water running, toilet flushing, electricity blinking, lights and other appliances turning themselves on.They will do anything neccesary to get your attention.

Now here is the confusing part, there are also ghosts that have no idea that they are dead and they are on thier own plane and do not even know we are here. They dont see us or hear us and when they do, they think we are the ghosts. If you have seen The Others, this is a perfect example. Ghosts are on a different plane than ourselves. This is the reason you see them floating or you never see their feet etc.

Most ghosts are not scary at all. Movies always make them out to be so awful. Most of them are very quiet and dont get noticed. I happen to notice them ALOT because I am somewhat clairvoyant. I can pick up mostly on their "vibe". I can feel them standing there looking at me and so forth. I cannot always see them though. When I do, I see the orbs. I have been woken many times in the middle of the night to see a huge bubble going by my face and into the wall behind my headboard. They also tend to get attached to me because they know that I know they are there. They feel comfortable and safe with me. So rather than the houses I lived in being haunted,you could say that I myself am haunted. I dont mind though because its been this way since I was about 8yrs old and I am now 29. So as you can imagine, it takes alot from a ghost to disturb me. I do try to guide them to the otherside or what other people call heaven. Some of them go and some of them refuse to go. Its thier choice and there is nothing I can do about this.

The one disturbing time I can remember in my life with ghosts are a house I lived in a few years ago in Florida. My husband, my daughter, and my newborn son lived in a beautiful historical house. This house caused us to argue constantly, our children cried alot and wanted to always leave and upon returning home would cry again and not want to be there. My mother felt uncomfortable in the house and always left a few minutes upon arriving. I could hear the front door open and shut as if my husband had come home and when I would go look, he was not home. I also heard a man's voice distinctly call my name quite often and I always though it was again, my husband and it never was him. We had infestations that I had never experienced before. We had huge southern cockroaches, rats, and all the sudden thousands of fleas inbedded themselves in our wood floor and began to attack me, my kids and our cat. We had to give our poor cat away because he was getting the worst of it, the kids had to stay with my family until the cold came and the fleas finally died off. No amount of spray would kill them!!! My husband and I who had gotten along normally , constantly fought in this house. If we left to go somewhere we always felt better and got along until we came back to the house. I was terrified of my daughters room. It connected to the bathroom. Whenever she went to visit my mother, I kept her door shut. I couldnt stand to have it open when she wasnt home.

Anyway the house contained not only ghosts but also horrible psychic residue from whoever lived there years ago.

In short, ghosts are not as mysterious as people make them out to be. They are only us, out of the human body. Unless you encounter one that terrifies you, there are no worries.
