The movie, "The Exorcist," is actually supposedly to be based on a true story reported in the Washington Dc Newspaper in 1949 on apparently events that have occurred in Maryland. In the true story it involved a boy who was born on June 1, 1935, and at the time he was 14 years old according to the Newspaper reports.

In the true story it said the boy and his family were German Lutherans, and they lived with his grandmother who hardly spoke any English. Apparently, around January 15, 1949, the boy and his grandmother started hearing strange sounds throughout the house of scratching and dripping sounds, which lasted for ten days, and they had no explanation to what was causing these sounds. Then right after, they started hearing more strange sounds of footsteps, and drum beats.

After when the boy's aunt passed away suddenly more bizarre things occurred such as the boy's bed being shaken, things getting tossed down such as picture frames at the boy presence. Then apparently the boy's parents (In different versions it says the grandmother, and his mother) started using the Ouija Board to contact the poltergeist spirit. The boy's mother believed there was a connection with the strange events, and the death of the aunt, but later she believed the problems with her son were the works of the devil or there deceased relative.

Around February of 1949, the boy's skin started to get red marks on his skin shaping into words. They had him tested, and the doctors found nothing wrong with the boy. Then his parents contacted a Roman Catholic priest (even when they were Lutherans) who recommend some prayers and holly water to be used on the boy, but apparently it did not work just aggravated him more.

Then the boy's mother took him to St. Louis hoping everything will go better, but it didn't get that way. Then father Lawrence a Jesuit priest came to visit the boy and done some prayers and put two crucifixes under his pillow, but it did not help the boy's condition. When the priest left the crucifix propelled it self to the end of the boy's bed, then his beds begin to shake violently.

Then the Archbishop of St. Louis gave father Lawrence permission to perform the rite exorcism on the boy. During the night of the ritual apparently 30 marks appeared on the boy's skin, and also one of them had the word hell on it. Through the week the priest witness strange things too, and the boy screaming profanity words and foreign language, they boy taking wild seizures, and more. Then the parents gave the priest permission to make him catholic, but things got worst, but suddenly things start to calm down to a stop that the priest believed the boys possessed was gone.

After about 5 days the disturbance started back up again and got worst and more violent. Words came out the boys mouth saying, I am always in him, apparently words from the devil. After days of the Exorcism ritual nothing seems to work, then father Lawrence found the key to exorcisming the demon of a possessed event that occurred in 1870.

Then father Lawrence forced the boy to wear a chain of religious medals and had him holding the crucifix. The boy had wild spasms . Then the father commanded the demon to declare itself then the boy showed great strength while he was in his violent spasm that it took five men to hold him down. Then the boy yelled, " I am St. Michael. I command you, Satan to leave the boys body". Then he utter, "He's gone", and apparently after this everything went back to normal.
