A young girl finds a Ouija board in the house that her mother is renting, whilst filming on location, and after she starts playing around with it, noises start being heard in the attic and the little girl starts acting a little strange. The girls mother takes her daughter to the doctors after she starts acting strangely, but the doctors don't seem to find any thing wrong with her.
Things go from bad to worse so they start doing experiments on the girl and have her see a shrink, but all the results seem to back as normal, but she seems far from normal as she starts hurling abuse, talking in strange languages and walking down the stairs in a similar fashion to a crab. Her mother finally gets fed up with no results from the doctors and psychiatrists, and turns to the church, as she starts to believe her daughter is possessed, but she as a hard time to persuade them to do a exorcism, as they tell her it is the 20th century now and not the dark ages, that there is things such as split personalities and behavioural disorders.
Eventually after sending a priest out to review the case of the little girl, do the church agree to sanction an exorcism. It is now when Father Riley arrives to take control of the exorcism as he is the one who as previous experience. What follows then is a battle against evil in which the two priests suffer the ultimate price, but in saving the girl they win their battle.
The Exorcist is known as The Scariest Movie Of All Time and in my opinion it probably is. I always seem to get that creepy feeling whenever I watch this film. Although alot of people I talk to about it seem to view it as a comedy show now, but to me this is just a front, in that they refuse to let anyone know that a film as actually scared them. So I challenge these same people to view this film in the middle of a cold dark night, with all there lights turned off and nobody else around.
