Catoblepas
Can burn the skin off of any living creature

These strange looking gruesome creatures primarily dominate swamp areas and marshy areas. They have very large blooded eyes which shoot rays of heat that can burn the skin off of any living creature if direct contact is made. The Catoblepas has a large bloated body almost like a buffalo, it's snake like tail is deadly because at the very tip of it at the end is a circular mass which scrapes and cuts it's victims, almost into shreds.
Some smaller forms of the Catoblepas have been mistaken in the dark as warthogs, but make no mistake these creatures are far deadlier and much uglier than any Warthog you'll ever see. They come from a magical realm and can be summoned by Great Priests turned evil or Wizards. They have an alignment of Neutral but will fight for food or protection of their area.
If the Catoblepas comes in contact with a human, it's first method of attack will be a deadly stare, this is where the eyes come into play. The glowing red eyes shoot beams of intense heat and will set ablaze anything the rays come into contact with. So it is always best to avoid the eyes and watch for the massive tail strike.
