Bugbears are giant hairy cousins to the goblin race.
They are very muscular and tall, they stand between 6'5 and 7' tall. Their coats are yellowish brown to reddish brown and they have bestial eyes, greenish white with red pupils. Bugbears got their name primarily because of their noses being shaped much like that of a bear. They have excellent smell, but beyond that are in no way associated with a bear.
Their ears are wedged shape rising from the tops of their heads, and their mouths are full of razor sharp fangs. The language of a Bugbear is grotesque, mixed grunts, snarls and few gestures. They are trained hunters and any attack from them will be swift and close to brilliant.
Bugbears prefer to live in caves and underground locations. They stay within the same boundaries as their smaller relatives, the Goblins. Bugbears are strictly hunters, they will kill and eat anything (including a goblin), and their food source is not limited to humans. They are predators and prefer to hunt and kill for their food rather than steal from neighboring villages.
The Bugbear will usually only attack those smaller and weaker than themselves, but have been known to launch full fledged attacks on camps and villages for the mere sport of killing their food.
