The smaller bats have bodies which resemble that of a mouse. The wings are formed and stretched across it's forelimbs. Despite the common, "Bats are blind" theory, most Bats actually have very good eyesight. In the dark, Bats do not rely on their visual abilities but rather on echo locations. They have a high pitched squeal and they listen for and feel the vibrations these squeals make off other objects such as buildings and cars or billboards. It is a natural form of sonar that allows them to "see" in the dark.

Only if a Bat is attacked will it then attack back. If they become frightened they tend to swarm and fly crazily in circles out of confusion. Bats prefer warm and humid climates but can be found almost anywhere in the world.
