Ghost in the Magic Shop, The
Ghosts. These are those pesky specters you can't usually see, yet you know are there. It's bad enough having one haunting your house. But what would you do if you had one in your Winabego? I Was a Halloween Monster
Every year when fall approaches, major theme parks around the country - particularly in L.A. and Orlando - transform into realms of nightmares with fog-choked streets and elaborate mazes to celebrate the Halloween season. Using paid "talent" in costumes, make up and masks to populate these grizzly mazes, events like the Halloween Haunt at Knott's Berry Farm, Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios and Shipwreck at the historic Queen Mary provide wary guests with the experience of being a participant in a live horror movie.

I Was a Halloween Monster II
I was standing at the entrance of the Portrait Gallery, peeking around the corner into the Hall of Faces for fresh victims when the idea hit me. My hand fell on the odd drawstring bag that hung from the belt around my waist, and a sly, crafty smile snaked across my face. Had my face really been the bony skull it appeared to be, the smile would have cracked it.

I Was a Halloween Monster III
Groups of teenage girls are the victims of choice for nearly all the monsters aboard the Queen Mary during her Halloween event. I watched the six girls nervously move away from me down the second corridor of the gallery. One look into their eyes told me I had one of those groups.

Mars The Angry Red Planet
This past summer, Mars was the closest it's been to the Earth in 60,000 years, and currently a fleet of earth spaceships is speeding toward its surface. Whether they'll find frost and sand or bug-eyed monsters are something science fiction writers and filmmakers have been speculating about since the days of H.G. Wells.

Twenty-five Years with the First of the "New Age" Monsters
He's big. He's mean. He wears a white fright mask, and he's been hacking up teenagers for 24 years. But even though he's been shot, stabbed, blown up, beaten with chains, injected with poison, burnt to a crisp and beheaded, you just can't keep some bogeymen down.
