After 28 days in a coma the main character wakes up in a hospital, as he comes around he realises that its deserted. So he takes to the streets of London which he also finds deserted he is unsure what as happened.
What has happened is that some Animal rights activists have released some monkey's which were infected with a virus known has RAGE, which turns its victims into raging homicidal maniacs, these infected then attack the non-infected and once bitten they mutate into RAGE maniacs themselves within 20 seconds.
Our main character gets attacked by some RAGE Zombies but is rescued by some non-infected people who he teams up with. In their quest for survival they end up teaming up with others and also find themselves in need of leaving the dangerous city of London. Their travels then takes them to Manchester were they find themselves taken in by what's left of the British army, who's intentions are far from looking after the civilians.
All in all a great Zombie film, infact probably the best Zombie film since Dawn of the Dead and Zombie Flesheaters. The Zombies in this film certainly feel as though they could take over the world. There is also some great tension scenes that even had a seasoned horror fan like myself on the edge of my seat. The only downside (if I have to look for one) for me was that of the accents the Army boys had, as all British films that portray the army seem to them give them either strong cockney (known as Mockney) or Scottish accents, the ending wasn't too great either but there is an alternate ending which I hear is better, but I haven't managed to see it yet.
